Commercial Property Executive has named its 2017 Executives of the Year and the list is certainly one with some distinguished individuals among it. CPE 2017 awards were voted on by a group of real estate industry executives which are better known as the CPE 100. Some of the people who were honored were Executive of the Year Daryl Carter, the founder and chairman of Avanath Capital Management and Mike Sales of TH Real Estate who was named the Investor of the Year.
There was some extreme interest in the Developer of the Year award this year.
The Developer of the Year award for CPE 2017 went to Peter Lowy, Co-CEO of the Westfield Corporation. The honorable mention nods went to Hines President and CEO Jeffrey Hines and the CEO of the Trammel Crow Co. in Matt Khourie. Hines was also named the Office Property Executive of the Year with The Related Companies CEO Jeff Blau being recognized as well.
Peter Lowy has turned the Westfield Corporation into one of the leading shopping center retail real estate developers in the world. Lowy has developed commercial real estate all throughout the United Kingdom and the United States. Westfield is also very well known for their management of shopping centers as well.
Jeff Hines has been the head of Hines since 1990. The Houston based commercial property executive is well respected throughout much of the United States. He has been able to see his company make waves in the international market as well. Currently, Hines oversees a portfolio of properties throughout the world that number at 130 and has a total value of $14 billion.
Khourie is the highly respected chief executive officer of the Trammel Crow Company. Khourie has been in the real estate industry for over 35 years and has been working with the Trammel Crow Company for the past 29. Khourie is another executive who has started to see his international profile grow as of late.
Jeff Blau has been at his current position with The Related Companies since 2012. He is responsible for new development and also for strategic planning of the company. Blau currently oversees a total of over $15 billion in projects across the globe.
