Debevoise & Plimpton LLP include seven new partners as of July 1, 2016. The new partner, Sarah Coyne will be handle a variety of white collar matters and investigations. This is the firms Litigation Department and the White Collar and Regulatory Defense Group. She brings to the table 14 years’ experience as a federal prosecutor. She was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. There, she practiced as the Chief of the Business and Securities Fraud Section, and has experience as a clerk for The Hon. Maryanne Trump Barry. She joined the firm in 2015.
A new member of the Corporate Department and the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Group is Uri Herzberg, who is based in the New York office. He will primarily advise on investments, divestitures and transactions pertaining to private equity firms and corporations. He joined the firm in 2007.
A new partner is Ina C. Popova, who joined the firm in 2007, is in the Litigation Department and International Dispute Resolution Group in New York. Her specialty is complex commercial litigation and international arbitration. She knows public international law and expertise in mining and energy sectors of which she has handled multi-billion-dollar disputes concerning commercial, environmental and public international law issues.
Mr. David L. Portilla is in the Corporate Department and the Banking Group. He advises on international and domestic banking organizations as well as other financial institutions on regulatory or transaction and governance matters. His experience is financial regulatory reform, implementation, including the Volcker Rule. His enhanced prudential standards and regulation of non-bank financial companies. He joined the firm in 2013.
The Litigation Department and the White Collar and Regulatory Defense Group is where David Sarratt practices his experience as a trial lawyer. His knowledge is on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations and complex civil litigation. His experience as an Assistant United States Attorney in The Eastern District of New York from 2010 to 2014 will bring a variety successful investigations and prosecutions. The new partners will join partners Sean Hecker, Julie Riewe and David O’Neil.
Mr. Patrick Taylor is located within the London office and practices in the Litigation department and the International Dispute Resolution Group. His primary focus is on complex commercial and investment treaty arbitration acting for both sovereign and commercial clients. He has experience in the upstream oil and gas, energy and telecommunications sectors, as well as joint venture, shareholder, production sharing and tax-related disputes.
