A celebration dinner was held in honor of Andy Warhol’s exhibit in the Miami Design District. The exhibit was regarding Andy Warhol’s Museum Letters. Patrick Moore is the Interim Director of the museum where the letters are being displayed. Patrick, Jackie Soffer (read more), and Craig Robins hosted the evening with an Andy Warhol theme.

The evening started when the guests began to arrive at a loading dock. This dock soon became a famous artists factory for the event. An elevator then took the guests right into the exhibition. The exhibit was a combination of luminaries like Mick Jagger, letters written to Warhol by both Truman Capote and Yves St. Laurent, new works from recent artists that were based on the Warhol letters and vintage Cadillac imagery from Warhol.

Also included in the event was a film with Chiara Clemente as the director, an instant-Warhol photo booth, an enormous book by the shoe designer Brian Atwood and Sean Lennon’s VR-experience.

All of the guests then went to a private dinner at OTL, the district’s current hotspot. While the guests were on their way to dinner they passed a vintage red 1959 Eldorado Biarritz convertible easily viewable from the floor to ceiling windows of the restaurant. In the parking lot of the Palm Court, they also saw a 2017 Cadillac CT6.

A three-course meal was served to the night’s guests once they were seated. This included rather bold pops of color, nods to Warhol, “Andy” Coca-Colas and silver leaf. The banquet table seated 54 people and was beautifully dressed with red roses.

The event’s attendees included collectors and notables including Ines Rivero, Barbara Becker, Jorge and Darlene Pérez, Criselda and Jonathan Breene, gallerists Fred Snitzer, Nina Johnson and David Castillo. Also included in the gathering were institutional heads, Vivian Pfeiffer, ICA Director Ellen Salpeter, Phillips Collection Chairman, Chief Curator and Executive Director Silvia Karman Cubiña, Director of PAMM Franklin Sirmans, Timothy Rodgers, Liaisons’ Susanne Birbragher, Director of the Wolfsonian-FIU and Cadillac’s Katie Kim.

The museum’s Andy Warhol letters are being exhibited on the third floor of the Design Districts Palm Court. The event will be running from February 3rd until the 12th. The admission is at no charge. The address for the Palm Court is 140 NE 39th St in the Miami Design District.
